Meaning: only, just

How to use the:
Verb-casual + だけ
いadj + だけ
なadj + だけ
Noun + だけ

Explain:
Describe the meaning apart from that, there’s nothing else
Also expresses the negative meaning 「だ け で な く」 (no longer)

Example sentences:
1. あなただけにお知らせします。
Anata dake ni oshirase shimasu.
I just let you know it alone

2.残された道は一つだけだと思いました。
nokosareta michi wa hitotsu dake da to omoimashita.
I decided that there was only one thing to be done.

3. あの人にだけは負けたくない。
Ano hito ni dake wa maketakunai.
I don’t want to lose only to that person.

4. 見るだけ買わなくてもいいです。
Miru dake kawanakute mo īdesu.
You don’t have to buy just to see.

5. ほかに一つだけ可能性がある。
hoka ni hitotsu dake kanousei ga aru.
There’s only one other possibility.
