場合 (baai)

Meaning: in case; in the case; in the event of; if;

How to use the:
Verb-casual, past + 場合
Noun + の場合
なadj + 場合

Explain:
A way of talking about a hypothetical case. The next section shows how to handle in case of no or have the result occurred.
The part before 「ばあい」 is the verb, adjective, or noun. Because 「ばあい」 is a noun, the way to connect it to the preceding word is similar to the noun modifier.

Example sentences:
1, 雨天の場合は順延します。
Uten no baai wa jun’en shimasu.
In case of rain, it will be postponed.

2, あの場合にはやむを得なかった
Ano baai ni wa yamuwoenakatta
In that case, it is compulsory to do so

3, 火事の場合は、１１４をかけます。
Kaji no baai wa, 114 o kakemasu.
