Meaning: if so …. it may be, otherwise it would be difficult

Explain:
If conditions are met … then there is a possibility, but if conditions are not met … it is difficult to achieve.

Example sentences:
1, 会社に入ってこそはじめて分かる仕事だ。
Kaisha ni haitte koso hajimete wakaru shigotoda.
If you enter the company, you will know the job

2, 大人になってこそはじめて、酒のうまさが分かる。
Otona ni natte koso hajimete, sake no uma-sa ga wakaru.
Only when you are an adult can you understand the taste of sake.

3, 失敗してこそはじめて、この仕事も難しさが本当に分かるだろう。
Shippai shite koso hajimete, kono shigoto mo muzukashi-sa ga hontōni wakarudarou.
