Meaning: unfortunately; end up; in the end

Explain:
Use in case of indication of a bad outcome.

Example sentences:
1, 彼女は夫の欠点を延々と並べ上げ、あげくの果てには離婚すると言って泣き出すしまつだって。
Kanojo wa otto no ketten o en’ento narabe age, ageku no hate ni wa rikon suru to itte naki dasu shimatsu datte.
After pointing out the husband’s defects, she ended up asking for a divorce and crying.

2, 息子は大学の勉強は何の役にも立たないと言ってアルバイトに精を出し、この頃は中退して働きたいなどと言い出すしまつだ。
Musuko wa daigaku no benkyō wa nani no yaku ni mo tatanai to itte arubaito ni sei o dashi, konogoro wa chūtai shite hatarakitai nado to iidasu shimatsu da.
My son says that studying at university is of no use, he devotes himself to a part-time job, and at this time he says he wants to drop out and work.
