Other ways to say はい “hai” in Japanese

1. うん (un) : Uhm
The less formal way of “hai”, used between close friends.

2. ええ (e e) : yes
The same with “un”, more often used by adults and still includes some poliness.

3. そうです (Sōdesu) : that’s right
Use when you want to confirm what others say is true.

4. そうしよう (Sō shiyou) : Let’s do so
Use when decided.

5. かしこまりました (kashikomarimashita) : yes. I get it
More formal way of “wakarimashita”, usually use in work.

6. しょうちしました (shōchishimashita) : Yes. I’ve got it
The same with “kashikomarimashita” but more polite.

7. 了解しました / りょうかいしました/ ryōkaishimashita : I got it.
Less formal compared to the last 2 ones, emphasize that you have comprehended all things conveyed.
