まさか (masaka)

Meaning: there’s no way, by no means, that’s impossible, you must be joking

Explain:
Describing the rejection mood, objecting to such an event could not actually happen, there was absolutely no such thing.
Usually, the sentence comes with 「ないだろう」、「まい」、「はずがない」、「わけがない」, etc. Showing the negative meaning

Example sentences:
1, 彼には何度も念を押しておいたから、まさか遅れることはないだろう。
Kare ni wa nando mo nen o oshite oitakara, masaka okureru koto wanaidarou.
I reminded him many times, probably going to be late

2, まさこそんなことはないと思うが念のためにもう一度調べてみよう。
Masako son’na koto wa nai to omou ga nen’notame ni mōichido shirabete miyou.
I don’t think so, but just to be sure, we need to check it out

3, 君、まさか僕を疑っているんじゃないだろうね。
Kimi, masaka boku o utagatte iru n janaidarou ne.
Maybe you doubt me

4, あんなに何度も練習したのでから、まさか失敗することはあるまい。
An’nani nando mo renshū shitanode kara, masaka shippai suru koto waarumai.
Practicing so much could not have failed

Attention:
The phrase 「まさか。。。.じゃないだろう／でしょうね」 is used to express high suspicion.

まさか、あなた、あの人と結婚する気じゃないでしょうね。
Masaka, anata, ano hito to kekkon suru ki janaideshou ne.
Hey, are you going to marry that person?
